Leon andClaire do shopping

"Tell me again why were here?"

Leon looked around the large elegantly decorated furniture store and eyed the expensive pieces wearily.

"Because we need a new couch that's why"

Claire said brightly looking  around her the amount of furniture was overwhelming.

"And whats wrong with our couch?"

"Its old and worn, new house new couch"

The redhead said finally resting her pretty baby blue eyes on the blond beside her, watching as those sharp gray blue eyes took in every detail before finally resting on hers.

"You mean broken in and comfortable"

"No I mean old and worn and on its way out the door, now come on we are going to do what normal non zombie exterminating couples around the world do....furniture shop together."

"Oh so that's what normal couples do?"

"Yes that's what they do, and they pick out china ask each others opinions  and generally complete each other, so I heard"

She hooked her arm around his leather clad one and pulled him with her smiling brightly.

"Welcome to Smith Brothers furniture store! my name is Debby and I would be happy to help you."

Leon cringed Claire beamed.

"Are you looking for something in particular?" Debby said smile plastered on her face.

"Were just looking for now thank you" Leon said.

"Well let me know if you need assistance"

"Thank you Debby we will"

Claire smiled taking a deep breath and walking into the furniture jungle.

"Ok baby, now what do you see that you like?"

Leon looked down at his redhead frowning before he shrugged his shoulder and walked over to the large dark leather sofa and love seat duo.

"This is nice"

Claire eyed the furniture.

"I don't know Leon its to dark and the leather will scratch easily"

"Its comfortable"

The blond said dropping his large heavy frame onto the sofa kicking his feet out.

"Yes it looks like it is but I don't like the color"

"Whats wrong with the color sweetheart"

He looked up at her blond brow slightly arched.

"Its to dark...oh! look at that one"

Claire pointed to another set behind the brown leather couch Leon reluctantly got up from.

"This is so cute"

Claire caressed the bright yellow fabric loving the red decorative pillows that rested against the arm rest.Leon did a double take.

"Claire honey you cant be serious"

The redhead drew her brows together.

"Whats wrong with it"

"It looks like the sun took a shit on it"

"This is the color of the season, I read it on the cover of Better Homes and Patios in line at the groceries store"

"Nope"

"Ok shopping together is about compromise so lets keep looking" Claire said with a sigh.

"Hey how about this one, man this is great it has a built in recliner"

Leon sat down on the sofa pulling the lever at the side and exhaled deeply.

"This is it"

"You got to be kidding me"

Claire crossed her arms over her chest.

"Nope its comfortable, leather,built in recliner, cup holder its perfect."

"Honey no its not formal enough."

"Sweetheart it doesn't have to be"

"Baby I want something nice"

"Darling I want something comfortable"

Claire glared at the agent the agent glared back.

"There you are do you have any questions I could help you with" Debby appeared out of nowhere.


"Do you have this in stock?" Leon said with a bright smile that was so fake.

"I can check"

"That wont be necessary because this isn't the couch for us"

Claire said with a little to much pep in her voice.

"Oh ...well when you two are ready to decide let me know"

Smart woman that Debby, Claire though as she saw the woman walk away.She took a deep breath.

"How about this one"

Leon eyes Claire's choice picking his long frame from the comfort of nice plush leather.

"I'll look like the jolly green giant on that!"

The redhead had pointed to a modern contemporary couch with low back lots of decorative pillows and the color of dust

"No you wont its perfect see."

Claire sat and looked up at her man.

"Yeah for a ten year old"

Oh it was on now!.

"Are you calling me short?"

"No sweetheart the couch is just to big for you"

Leon beamed, Claire glared standing to her full height and only coming up to his shoulders.

"I like it"

"I don't"

"Compromise Kennedy"

"Not a chance Redfield"

"I'm not taking that thing"

She pointed at Leon's cup holder recliner selection.

"Whats wrong with it?"

"Its the color of shit."

"Better than that thing, it looks like it was made for a hobbit"

"Do you need help finding anything in particular"

Debby spoke up again bright smile plastered on her face, she looked from one to the other nodded and walked away.

"Im not taking shit" Claire glared.

"Im not taking furniture from the Shire" Leon crossed his arms.

"Ok fine lets keep looking"

Thirty minutes latter four visits from Debby and a couple of creative ways to insult furniture , Leon and Claire stood staring at the one item they both had nothing negative to say about.

"I like it" Leon said.

"I do to" Claire breathed tilting her head to eye the item at a slightly different angle.

"I think we found our compromise"

"I think we did" Claire smiled.

Back at home Claire put the popcorn bowl on the coffee table and fell into Leon's open arms giggling when he kissed her neck tickling her sides.The old and worn leather of there couch creaking below them.

"See I told you furniture shopping together would be fun, just like normal couples do" Claire beamed.

"Yeah just like normal couples, we disagreed argued insulted each others taste but in the end we compromised"

"Exactly" Claire kissed his cheek.

"I think we did good"

"Yes we did agent Kennedy, now hit the play button I heard this movie is good"

Leon hit the play button for the blue ray player as the couple snuggled together and began to watch the movie on there brand new 60  inch HD flat screen T.V.
